The National Guard Association of the United States is an “association of associations”. Each state and territory, Kentucky being no different, has an association to serve the immediate needs of its members. But to speak at the national level with one voice, NGAUS represents every soldier and airmen with a unified front to lobby for federal initiatives.
NGAUS is a nonpartisan organization representing nearly 45,000 current and former Army and Air National Guard officers. It was formed in 1878 with the goal of obtaining better equipment, standardized training and a more combat-ready force by petitioning Congress for resources. Well over a century later, NGAUS has the same mission.
Our goal is to maintain the freedom and security of this nation by guaranteeing a strong national defense through the provision of a vital, dynamic National Guard as a part of the Total Force.
Please visit the NGAUS website to see what issues are currently being addressed that will affect tomorrow’s National Guard!
